In June 2016, on second Minister meeting of Technology Sub-committee of Sino-Ukrainian Governmental Cooperation Committee held in Kiev, capital of Ukraine, project Design And Manufacturing of Transferring Robot And Device in Radioactive Environment carried out by Sino-Ukrainian Xianchu Academy on Decommissioning of Nuclear Power Plants was listed as one of governmental technical cooperation between China and Ukraine, which is the only project performed by private enterprise.

    Sino-Ukrainian Xianchu Academy on Decommissioning of Nuclear Power Plants is a joint venture established by Qingdao Xianchu Energy Development Group collaborating with Ukraine National Nuclear Safety Administration and Institute for Safety Problems of Nuclear Power Plants of NAS of Ukraine, exclusively engaging in introduction, absorption and transmission of 29 cutting-edge technologies in both nuclear decommissioning and nuclear waste treatment fields, and developing independent intellectual property. The mentioned robot project is one of the 29 technologies, with which Qingdao Xianchu Group will become one of the very few companies worldwide mastering core technology and  is capable to independently design and manufacture robot operated under strong radioactive environment. 

     Chen Kun, CEO of Qingdao Xianchu Energy Development Group, said:”Sino-Ukrainian Xianchu Academy on Decommissioning of Nuclear Power Plants will enhance close collaboration among government, industry, school and institute to establish good mechanism of dynamic integration of scientific research, achievement transformation and business incubation, so as to finally build up a sci-tech park integrating application base research, soil restoration, high-end talent cultivation and hi-tech enterprise incubation.” This cooperation will develop Sino-Ukrainian Xianchu into an academy of strong competitiveness in the world and the proposed project will also enjoy broad market prospect.
